After completing my undergraduate degree in Computer Science, I followed my passion for education by earning a postgraduate degree in Education from Canterbury University. I now have over sixteen years of teaching experience, working with children aged 5 to 13 in both state and independent schools.
Throughout my career, I have been a Form Tutor for Years 3 and 4 and have primarily taught Years 3 to 6. Over the past nine years, I transitioned into senior leadership roles, first as Director of Studies and later as Deputy Head Academic. These roles deepened my understanding of the vital role teachers play in helping every child reach their full potential.
In the classroom, I developed a deep love for English and witnessed firsthand the power of a holistic, personalised approach to teaching, one that builds confidence and nurtures each child’s unique strengths. I have worked extensively with neurodiverse children and hold a qualification in dyslexia support. I also have experience teaching the award-winning Read Write Inc. phonics programme, as well as Fresh Start, a targeted intervention for children aged 9–13 who need additional support with reading.
I founded The Foxbury School of Learning to inspire a lifelong love of learning through personalised teaching, confidence-building, and a holistic approach. My work is rooted in empathy, a strong understanding of children and their individual needs, and a commitment to bringing out the best in every learner. My goal is to enable, inspire, and enlighten children, helping them grow not just academically, but as confident, curious individuals.

Teaching Was Always the Dream
Ever since I was a child I dreamed of becoming a teacher. That passion has never faded and today I feel privileged to help young learners grow and succeed every day.
My teaching name was Mrs P.B and pupils affectionately nicknamed me Mrs Paddington Bear. The name stuck and I have always taken pride in bringing warmth, kindness, and a touch of fun to my teaching.

Dougal the Dog
Dougal is my close companion when I am not teaching. Whether we are out walking or enjoying a quiet moment, he is always by my side.
Family Life & Dyslexia Insight
